              <text>Our neighbors being evacuated via the truck already had 0-5 feet of water in their homes.  At the insistence of a rescue worker, my family evacuated less than an hour after I took this photo.  Although our lot is on a leg of the main Buffalo Bayou artery, our home didn't flood.  After rising over 29 feet, the Buffalo Bayou water stopped rising just 3/8 of an inch short of our front door threshold.  Nevertheless, we did have to stay evacuated for eight days, plus another couple of days without power.</text>
