Shortly after he left, the sewer started backing up into the bathtub and flood waters starting rising visibly and quickly into the back yard. With the sound of helicopters overhead, the doorbell rang, and it was a friendly man with a boat, explaining he was here to evacuate me. I was surprised, being that the storm had gone, and my home was dry... but he explained the waters may rise an additional 6-7 feet due to the dam release, and I should leave immediately. I left a note on the door for my friend whom was not answering his cell phone and left in the boat, only to meet up with my friend shortly after at the next evacuation point... he had been picked up by the Cajun Army whilst coming back from the store.
