This is the first photo I took of the storm. I woke up at 1:30AM that first morning & went and peeked out our glass front door to see if this storm was worth all that fuss. This was the 1st time I had opened our tool shed since it had been flooded. It sat in water for 4 days, and even when I opened it boards were still wet. Tools that laid on the ground collected pools of water where they had grooves in their plastic casings. It smelled awful, of sewage and mold. After the roads were safe enough for her to navigate her way home after the main flooding event, my wife decided to throw an After-Harvey Potluck Party and invited all we knew and asked them to invite their neighbors as well. We had a very large turnout, meeting new neighbors and enjoying our time not being cooped up for several days. In this case, Harvey brought many of us together and has enriched the relationships in our lives.
