Title
Coast guard rescue in Meyerland, viewed from my second story bedroom
Description
The Coast Guard sent small boats all through Meyerland, helping people get away from the flooding. Coast Guard helicopters flew overhead, helping to look out for people who needed help and to guide the boats. Some of our elderly neighbors needed assistance getting out of their second story and into a rescue boat, and this Coast Guard member was being lowered down to the roof of our neighbors' home to assist them. The massive engine of that copter, the smell of the fuel and the powerful wind put out by the blades of the copter were pretty overwhelming, not to mention the sight of this brave fellow dangling from a rope in the middle of the sky.
