After staring at the looping radar feeds and monitoring the flood gauges around the city, I decided to step outside for the first time since it started raining and shoot a short video to post on social media.
This was the morning of August 27th after the sun came out and we could take survey of what the water height really was. Bay Colony in League City near Calder Rd and FM 517
Beltway 8 flooded up to 15’ at one point, and thankfully our subdivision was spared. It was quiet and spooky for so many days that my neighbors and I actually missed the traffic.
With neighborhoods returning to a state of "normal", we are surrounded by scars of what Harvey did to us. From tire gouges in grass, to waterlines still visible on fences, the memories of Harvey are still so visible.
