The bayou had come out of its banks and had covered everything that was normally dry land. It looked like an enormous lake in front of the Allen Parkway/downtown area. Rushing water, water cascading over walls that would never be under water.

This is the 5" rain gauge on my balcony by Shepherd and Westheimer. I emptied it 5 times during Harvey.
