Flooding on Elgin Street

I took this picture during Hurricane Harvey, around noon on August 27. It was the street in front of my home. We left soon after this photo was taken, traveling north to Humble.

This image was taken of a truck while driving along I-45 North. Evidently, the driver was pulling out of a driveway and was turning right when the vehicle got stuck.

This picture was taken while looking out our living room window. I had never seen such flooding up close.

This image was taken while riding along I-45. It is the parking lot of a business that looks to be flooded. There is a partially submerged truck in the lot.

Picture taken from the upstairs bedroom window on Sun 8-27-17 at about 7:00 am.

Kingwood Dr and Forest Garden

Let me start off by saying that most of this was written about a week after the storm hit and touched up in the last week as we approached the one year mark of Harvey. These recollections are in no way a complete - hardly - debrief of my experiences…
